best of 2010: food

December 27th, 2010

It’s hard to believe another year has gone by! I’ll be on break for the next week, but I wanted to leave you with 10 of my favorite food recipes from 2010. Have a great New Year! Look for a round up of my top ten cocktails coming later this week!

caramelized peanuts + macadamia nuts- oh boy, these are such a great snack! they’d be great served in little bowls at a cocktail party. be careful, they’re super addictive!

honey wheat crackers – crackers are so easy to make! these go great with a little goat cheese.

my favorite winter salad – the winter can be so dreary sometimes, but this little splash of green will brighten up any day.

mini carrot cakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting – let’s be honest, spread some cinnamon cream cheese frosting on anything and it’s bound to be delicious, but these little cakes are not only cute, they also hold up the tasty frosting.

cinnamon biscotti – it’s like grown-up cinnamon toast. (awesome)

asparagus + lemon ricotta pizza – again with the lemon and ricotta, but add a little asparagus and call it a pizza, it’s such a treat!

grandma june’s onion rings – onions coated with a saltine cracker batter then fried… saltines never tasted so good!

honey + sesame seed brussel sprouts- I went on a major brussel sprout binge this year and this recipe was definitely my favorite.

warm lemon ricotta bruschetta – this year i was blown away by what a little lemon zest mixed with ricotta cheese could do. i think we had these at least once a week this summer.

Buckeyes- how could you go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate? This is a totally decadent, totally awesome treat!

Great round-up. I missed the sprout recipe the first time around; can’t wait to try.
