basil plum fizz

August 7th, 2009

I picked up a little jar of sugar plums when we were at blue hill and I’ve been itching to use them. I decided a cocktail was a good place to start, so I whipped up this little drink, something I’ve named the basil plum fizz. It’s pretty tasty, perhaps still a work in progress.

Have an excellent weekend!

basil plum fizz
makes 1 cocktail

2 sugar plums
2 oz syrup from sugar plums (or simple syrup)
1.5 oz vodka
1 oz lime juice
a few basil leaves

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the plums, syrup, lime juice and basil leaves until well mashed, about 10 seconds.
Add the vodka and ice. Shake well.
Pour into glass and garnish with a sprig of basil.
